Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority has three national philanthropies: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, and the Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the official philanthropy of the sorority since 1958 after a sister's child lost their battle, is the recipient of funds raised by chapters to support research to find a cure for CF and to improve the quality of life for the 30,000 children and young adults with the disease. Over One Million dollars has been raised to date for the CFF through DPhiE. Since 1985, The National Asssociation of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) has been an additional recipient of DPhiE’s fundraising efforts. ANAD is a national organization dedicated to alleviating problems of anorexia and other eating disorders. Delta Phi Epsilon is the only one of the 26 National Panhellenic Conference sororities to sponsor an organization whose sole purpose is to fight eating disorders. The ANAD Candlelight Vigil has been selected as Delta Phi Epsilon’s International Service Day Event, in order to raise awareness of the dangers of eating disorders. The Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation was established in 1967 in honor of our 50th anniversary. Through donations the foundation assists members and their children to complete their education or continue their graduate studies. The foundation also provides funding for the undergraduate members and advisors. Every March we have a month long competition amongst chapters called DIMES 4 DPHIE (D4D) of who can get the most donations of $19.17 in honor of our founding year, 1917. |
