About Us
On March 17, 1917, five women from New York University Law School founded Delta Phi Epsilon. Our organization is one of the first nonsectarian social sororities, and the only sorority founded at a professional school. Delta Phi Epsilon was formed “for the purpose of promoting good fellowship among sorority women to help in acquiring knowledge, appreciation, discriminating judgment and a true feeling of sisterly love, through the interaction of sympathetic and friendly natures.”
On September 25, 1988, the Alpha Eta Chapter of DPhiE was founded at Montclair State University. Since our local founding 26 years ago, the Alpha Eta Chapter has proven to live by the dreams of our founders by continuing to provide a sisterhood experience rich with tradition, innovation and opportunities for growth. Delta Phi Epsilon sorority develops a social consciousness and a commitment to think and act for the greater good. We strive to live by our founding values of Justice, Sisterhood, & Love.
